Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes Near The Ear
Question: Hello,
These are my symptoms-
1- Crunching /clicking noise in my ears.
2- Swollen lymph node just in front of my right ear and swollen vessels above my right ear
3- wetness in both ears, wen I put my finger in my ear, It is on my finger tip
4- Bad smell coming from my breath ( not normal for me)
4- sensitivity to cold in my right upper back molars ( comes and goes)
5- itching and sensitivity behind my right ear and going down my neck at times
6-White mucus every day in my nose ( white thick like elmers glue) not yellow or bloody.
7-Floaters in my eyes
The main symptom began on the eight day of taking amaoxacilian for a sinus infection. I had been up all night working and woke up the next morning with this Crunchy/ clicking in my right ear and in my neck. It was very distinct and happened that night. I recall waking up and saying to my self that ive never felt that sensation or discomfort in my head and neck ever before.
My point it began while I was taking amoxicillain. I also took several courses of antibiotics last fall as we thought it was a sinus infection.
My question is could this be a systemic candida issue? Is so what type of doctor should I be seeing?
I have been to a good ENT several times, MRI, culture for virus all negative. He refeared me to a nose specialist in XXXXXXX I'm not sure if that's the proper next step.
Ive had these symptoms for over a year now. My body, my research and my intuition are telling me this could be a "negative/ allergic" reaction from the Antibiotics. again it very specifically started on the second to last day of treatment on a night that I was up all nigh stressed and working hard. I keep coming back to this..
IF this was an allergic reaction, What are the blood test that I should be considering to get to the bottom of the issue?
Best regards
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Get done serum IgE level and eosinophil count.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of infective etiology is very very unlikely.
Possibility of allergic etiology is more likely.
Blood tests like serum IgE, eosinophil count etc should be done first.
If these are elevated then get done detailed blood allergy tests to identify the allergens.
Skin prick tests are also available for specific allergens. But they are invasive and painful.
So better to discuss with your doctor and get them done.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Thank you for the advice.
I have a few follow up questions if you don't mind.
Im pretty sure this was a result of me having an "allergic" or negative response to an antibiotic. I had a severe sinus infection however it was a few weeks after that I took the antibiotics. I was stressed and up all night the evening that I had the onset of the symptoms.
Crunchy noise in my lymph channels. / ear / head area.
Also I lost feeling in my right three small toes for about 24 hours. ( fine now)
all of this happened that night. the eighth night of taking antibiotics.
Im just trying to understand what happens during an allergic reaction to antibiotics. Is it a change in the Biological balance of the organisms in the lymph system.
Have you heard of this nerve issue. what actually occurs when this happens.
Thanks again.
I will be having the blood test next.

Sorry I wasn't clear.
Just that I lost feeling in my toes the same night that the crunchy / in my ear and neck. all of these symptoms came on that one night. The feeling in the toes came back within 24 hours. the swollen lymph and clicking in ear. wetness in ears still remains.
I'm just trying to understand what caused it. and best recommendation to help it heal.
thanks..
