Suggest Treatment For Swollen Submandibular Gland
lymphoma is not an option.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Lymphoma is a type of cancer that is pretty aggressive. It may present at start only with an swollen lymph node in neck or armpit but soon all the other symptoms complete the clinical presentation of the disease like multiple swollen lymph nodes in body, spleen enlargement, unexplained weight loss, night sweats, fevers.
So if you had lymphoma for 9 months ,you would have all the symptoms and your blood count would be abnormal in tests.
Usually lymphoma doesn't cause a swollen submandibular gland.
Since you don't have any other symptoms apart swollen submandibular gland, and your blood count is normal, there is no single reason to think about lymphoma.
There are many possible causes for swollen submandibular gland including infection ,inflammation ,a cyst or submandibular gland, a lipoma ( a benign finding) ,stone in the ducts of submandibular gland.
This may need a proper evaluation form an OMF ( oral and maxillofacial ) surgeon to determine the real cause but you don't have to think about Lymphoma.
Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubts to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.
Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
possible due to chronic inflammation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
Well a chronic infection like sinusitis and an oral infection (possible thrush) might be the cause of this swollen gland.
A physical examination might be necessary to understand more.
If this gland doesn't increase in size ,you don't need to worry. It may be just an reactive lymph node due to chronic inflammation.
It doesn't seem to be serious and has nothing to do with lymphoma.
Feel free to ask for any question that you might have.
Take care,

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
Since it has been there for 10 months and hasn't increased significantly ,it is a good sign.
The fact that you have gained weight doesn't seem to be related to the swollen lymph node.
I would recommend to consult a general physician or an OMF-surgeon for examination.
Physical examination is essential to understand the real cause.
It is difficult to say something more without doing a physical examination and some tests including fine needle aspiration if needed.
I can tell for sure that this swollen lymph node is not related to any kind of malignancy like lymphoma.
Hope it helps.

Hello again!
Definitely it is not related to cancer because in this case for 10 months you would have have a lot of other symptoms and the lymph node would have increased in size.
I would suggest to see a physician for examination. You have assumed that this swollen lymph node comes from submandibular gland but this needs examination for confirmation. It also might be just a lipoma (smooth ,oval or round, movable not fixed, well confined ) that is a benign finding and has nothing to do with submandibular gland or lymph nodes.
It doesn't seem to be anything serious but just to know the real cause I would suggest to consult a physician.

it may be.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
Usually lipoma is soft, movable and well confined since it is made of fatty tissue but sometimes when it is located under muscular fascia they can be felt hard.
A physical examination from a physician can determine if it may be a lipoma.

No cancer.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
You don't have to think about cancer. It is not a possibility in your case.
The other possibilities (chronic inflammation, lipoma, etc) should be evaluated by a physician to determine the real cause.
