Brief Answer:
not a likely problem

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Cancer of the throat is highly highly unlikely.

First it is a rare cancer, cancer of areas of the neck make up 3% of all cancers, meaning it is one of the most rare types of cancers.
According to the statistics, the number of new cases is 3 for 100 000 persons a year.

It also is more common in males than females with a ratio of 2 to 1 or 4 to 1.

Herpes simplex 1 is NOT a risk factor for oral cancer on its own.
Risk factors for oral cancer are- long history of smoking or alcohol use, HPV infection.

Additionally this cancer normally presents in the 50's, not at this age.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

whats the differences in herpes simplex 1 and HPV infection

Brief Answer:
does not appear cancerous

Detailed Answer:
HI

Yes, a viral infection can cause enlargement for this length of time.

The pic does not appear cancerous.

They are different types of viruses.HPV stands for human papilloma virus.

Herpes 1 is a very very common infection, a large number of persons in any given population have this viral infection. If it caused oral cancer on its own, the numbers of oral cancer would be a lot lot higher.
