Question: I need an antihistamine but I am allergic to benedryl. (It causes me to be paralyzed. Please recommend something. My left ear has been plugged and I have not been able to hear out of it for two weeks. I have taken antibiotics and am done with them, and it is still plugged.

Based on your clinical details, it seems to be Eustachian tube dysfunction.


I suggest the following measures, to overcome your ear blockage.


1. Antihistamine Tab.ebast 10mg (ebastine). which is a cardioprotective and non sedative, daily one tab at bedtime.

2. Do valsalva exercises (watch you tube video).

3. chew chewing gum.

4. Steam inhalation.


In case of persistence, need to be evaluate with audiometry tests and ent consultation.
