Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Gastritis
Question: Developed gastrits symptoms 2 months ago after taking several rounds of antibiotics. GP upped dosage from 20 to 40 nexium. I have improved, the intense heartburn and stomach indegestion is better to more than better compared when it started but I still have some mild stomach burning sensation. It mainly happens on the mid-morning bland snack. Same snacks later in day. What is this? Is it a good sign improvement most likely rules out serious stuff., Does gastritis take this long?? I'm taking 40 mg in the morning so it should not be scid causing the burning sensation mid-morning.

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:
1. The fact that your symptoms has been improved after PPI's drugs means that your symptoms are stomach related ( gastritis). To my opinion you can increase the dosage of nexium up to 80 mg per day.
2. Otherwise You are reporting to have been used antibiotics several rounds and this is why I suggest to do :
- fecal test for candida
- upper endoscopy to better evaluate stomach for candida and gastritis/GERD or ulcer.
3. Meantime I suggest to :
- avoid spicy foods
- avoid coffee and chocolate
- eat often and small amount of meal
- eat 3-4 hours before bed
Hope it was helpful to you!
