Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Knee Osteoarthritis
This week she had another shot, but the doctor insisted in doing the injection in the opposite side of her knee. She says that she does not yet feel any relief from this shot, and is upset that the doctor did not inject into the same area as last year.
Is it possible that the doctor made a mistake, or that the cortisone will eventually spread to the same area and give her the same relief she got when he injected her last year when the relief was almost immediate?? Thank you.
I would suggest you to wait.

Hello,
Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.
You should encourage your mother to be patient, probably the doctor thought he can give her even better reliefe by chaging the olace of injection so that it can cover other parts of knee which last injection didnt cover.
Yes it can take time about 7 days to show effect so hang in there and wair for response. Keep encouraging your mother to be patient calm and wait for repsonse. If response doesn't come you always have option to contact your mother again.
It is a fact that patient can have different response to the subsequent steroid injections, some get resistant to it , anyways i would suggest you to wait for ten days and then contact your doctor again to discuss may be another shot.
I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.
Regards.
Dr.Muhammad Ahmad.
