Question: Hi, my name is XXXX, I have been diagnosed schizophrenic for mental telepathy and telekinesis. I believe it is a control measure for being part of illuminati. My psychiatrist has said my mental telepathy is delusional - directed by government?!?! I have experienced these thoughts and feelings all my life but only put to mental health since dabbling in religion and politics. I am writing to you for your views on mental telepathy and telekinesis. This is important as I believe my life is at risk for being honest. Thank you for your input, XXXX

Brief Answer:
Telepathy can be real

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all I like to acknowledge that this is grey area between science and fiction and my opinion may not be acceptable to you or your psychiatrist.

Regarding telepathy and telekinesis I am of the opinion that I think they exist although it is difficult to prove them. I will like to draw your attention to a recent research carried out by Charlous Grau in 2014 which clearly stated that telepathy is real.

On the flip side I like to inform you that if such experiences leads to problem in either your life or others life I think the diagnosis of mental disorder such as schizophrenia warranted. The experience and belief is right as long as it is upto you and do not cause any hindrance in others life.

I think same principle should be applied before making a diagnosis of schizophrenia in your case.

I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.

Hi, I have a query. Does the hindrance have to be direct or indirect? I don't deliberately set out to cause problems to my family but it seems to have eventuated through the people I have dealt with- coercion is the problem. Am I still schizophrenic? Can my psychiatrist legally control me through medication? I am seeking help through Aphra, I would prefer psychotherapy but he labels me delusional, an abrupt end to the conversation. My psychiatrist is Dr XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
it could be direct or indirect

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Regarding your question am I still schizophrenic, I do not think I can make a diagnosis with available information. As you might be knowing diagnosis of schizophrenia requires detailed history and mental status examination and I do not think this platform can be used for such activity.

Regarding the hindrance question I like to make it clear that direct as well as indirect (in case it originates from abnormal experience) is counted toward diagnosis. The text books mention that any kind of social, psychological, academic or professional dysfunction can be considered toward diagnosis.

In case the psychiatrist have concerns regarding safety of you or others he is authorized to control you with physical or chemical means. Once he is convinced that nobody is at risk he will like to discontinue any kind of restriction.

I hope this helps you further.
Thanks and regards.
