Brief Answer:
Details as described below:

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. The aspiration must be conformed with either XXXXXXX studies or a nuclear scan.

2. Once this is confirmed beyond doubt, the lower airway can be separated from the food passage and upper airway. This is known as LaryngoTracheal Separation (LTS) procedure and can be done initially with a stent or directly with surgical procedures. There will be a permanent tracheostomy and loss of natural voice.

3. This is an option instead of stopping food and fluid intake. Total laryngectomy is the definitive procedure.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
