Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Sinusitis
A few years ago, I had a similar large lump on my forehead but it took forever to go away. I believe I have also had the swolen nodes before.
I'm wondering if there is anything that can cause both things? strep? I am of course concerned about the lymph node, but where is that related to ( it is on my right side )? Could tooth issues be causing it ? ( I do need some fillings, have had some tooth pain on the same side as the lump ).
I have previously (few years ago) had a nodule removed from my vocal chord. In the past 3 months I've started biking to work, but in very polluted london, and now ( after quitting smoking for a year / switching to vaping ) i have my old "smokers mucus/flem" back, so I'm wondering if the pollution (+heavy breathing when biking) is also a possible factor. My voice is a little horse, similar to the early stages of when I had my vocal nodule.
I've also had a very slight, but consistant ( i'm almost used to it) headache on the top right hand side of my head, a kind of warm feeling.
seems to be sinusitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having enlarged post auricular lymph node with lump in forehead. I would like to as you few more details.
Is there any seborrhea (dandruff) or psoriasis (skin diseases) or any allergy (hair dye) ?
Is there any post nasal drip (sinus secretions dripping back into throat) or nasal obstruction (symptoms of sinusitis) ?
Kindly get back to me with the details.
Based on your clinical details, it appears to be post auricular lymph-adenitis secondary to scalp or hair infection with frontal sinusitis.
Vocal nodule surgery or teeth caries will not cause post auricular group lymph node enlargement (tooth causes below jaw, where as vocal cards doesn't have lymph channels).
Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Yes, I have had a few red bumps in my scalp quite often, and some scaling sometimes too, one spot in particular has always been a problem on my crown. A little dandruff as well.
I did have a blocked nose a couple of weeks ago, but it has cleared up about a week ago. I may have a post nasal drip as well, I do need to clear my throat quite a lot.
XXXX
need endoscopy or CT scan.

Hello again,
Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.
Your symptoms confirms, seborrheic dermatitis (cause of post auricular lymph nodes) with (active) sinusitis.
I suggested you to visit a dermatologist (dandruff) and ENT surgeon for appropriate investigations (diagnostic nasal endoscopy/ CT scan) and the exact treatment. In the mean time do steam inhalation twice daily (for clearing of clogged nasal oro-nasal passages).
All the best. Take care.
