Brief Answer:
Teaching hospital, medical laboratory, suggest you see Dr first

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

These are tests to check for Thyroid disease.

These tests are generally very inexpensive, grossly available and easy to interpret, especially after a medical consultation.

I suggest any university medical centre of Teaching Hospital in XXXXXXX of course should be offering the test. Any medical or clinical lab offers this test.

You simply need not to eat in the morning you want the test done and a blood sample is taken.

However, it might be more interesting to get a medical consultation before getting the tests done. The clinical review might give more insight to you and your doctor, and at times alleviates some unnecessary fears.

Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health.

Dr Bain

I take it from your answer that these tests are not readily avsilable at a GP
Iis there a lab ie York or such that can do the tests if they have blood sample sent

Brief Answer:
You are right, proper collection conditions needed though.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the follow up.

You are right these tests usually need clinical motivations, and are not performed as a routine. A proper clinical and medical/family history components, especially with regards to thyroid disease in the family, thyroid cancer are usually needed.

If samples are collected appropriately and sent to any lab, of course York, the analysis could be easily done. The fear hear s to guarantee the samples were appropriately collected by trained lab collection staff to avoid false positives.

You are right.

Kind regards as I wish you the best.

FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING PEOPLE CAN GO UNDIAGNOSED FOR A LONG TIME, SUFFERING WITH other disorders that are not being diagnosed as a result of poor thyroid function
both my sister and i have developed some of these symptoms but cannot get the correct tests done, as the normal tests done do not show a t4 deficiency
The original question is unanswered, re availability of tests
