Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Upper Respiratory Tract Infection
Question: Three weeks ago I had the beginning of laryngitis, took Amoxicillin (500 mg) and it is cleared up. Have a continuous, cough which is soothed with drinking warm tea with honey. In order to cure cough I am on Augmenton 825 125...; 5-day steroid pack and (day 3 now) and Spiriva inhaler, two puffs once a day. I am scheduled for rotator cuff surgery on Friday (this is Mon). Should surgery be cancelled?
Brief Answer:
I would be wiser to postpone the surgery...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
As you had an attack of upper respiratory tract infection and still recovering from the same, it would be wiser to advance the date of surgery.
Even though, the rotatory cuff surgery is performed under regional block; presence of cough could be difficult for the surgeon to perform the procedure, as the body would be shaking while coughing.
Hope this answers your query; revert back to me if you have any follow-up queries.
