Brief Answer:
Surgery not usually needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Synostosis” means a union or fusion of bones that are usually distinct from each other—in your case, the radius and ulna near the elbow.
Children with mild to moderate cases in one hand only often compensate for their limited arm-rotation by wrist and shoulder motions. In such cases no surgery is needed. Occupational and physical therapy, splinting and casting helps in recovery.
Since it is affecting only one arm it is likely to be a minor deformity that can be corrected without a surgery. In severe cases surgical treatment is recommended the cost of which depends on the type of hospital duration of stay and the degree of deformity. Post operatively physical therapy is also needed for complete rehabilitation.
I hope this answers your query.
