Suggest Treatment For Telogen Effluvium Due To Medication

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Dec 2014
Question: I have never done this before, but there is always a first time!
I have been diagnosed with Palindromic Rheu. since Aug. I am reducing the amounts of Prednisone I was on, so that I am down to 5 mg. for the next 2 weeks. But on 9/9 I started 400 mgs. of Plaquenil. My question is: does the hair loss this drug is causing, "plateau out" in due time, or does it just continue until I have no hair left?? (The diarrhea and gas problems finally did resolvedthemselves), but I do not want to go bald!!! If you really and truly do answer this question, I will be eternally grateful, for I have searched all over the internet and can't seem to find an answer. But it is important to me, for i would like to try some other Med. if this hair loss just continues. Thanking you very much, in advance, XXXX

Brief Answer:
Telogen effluvium

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for the query.

This hair fall is due to medication.
It is called as telegen effluvium. It will continue till the time you are on medication.
Don't worry you will not go totally bald.
Apply minoxidil solution and take biotin tablet.
This will help in good hair growth.

Let me know if you have any other doubts.

Thank you.
