Brief Answer:
Continue medication and get investigated as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Your father seems to be having lumbosacral radiculopathy due to nerve root compression in back region.
You need to get imaging of spine xray or preferably Mri.
Other investigation if required can be planned accordingly.
Is there any history of trauma, urinary complains, weakness in lower limbs?
Avoid stopping forward, lifting heavy objects, squatting, sitting crossed leg.
Physiotherapy can be started once acute pain is releived.
Drugs as prescribed should be continued and followed again within 2 weeks for any drug changes.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me for further queries.
