Question: Hello my skull has thickened at the right and left sides and on the back lower left side . It's quite alarmingly and totally has me worried what could this be cause from or what could it be please

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Of course you have to confirm that thickening by imaging, it is difficult to assess by touch only, the MRI will provide more information.

If there is indeed a thickening of the skull there can be several causes. One possible cause would be acromegaly, overproduction of growth hormone. Since that hormone is produced by pituitary gland where you have that microadenoma its levels should be measured.

Another possible cause over production of the parathyroid hormone.

Anemia is another possible cause because extra blood cells are produced by the marrow and so the bone marrow increases in size.

At the end of the day there are some cases where no cause is found, it is not associated with any danger.
