Suggest Treatment For Throat Ulcers And Pain
Question: I have been suffering from throat ulcer. This is second attack in 2 months. It pains heavily on throat. There are white patches in throat and throat is red as well. Once white patch at one location gets cured, another pops up at some other location in throat. Now ulcer has spread to tongue and it is very painful.
My first ENT gave following drugs, but said no viral infection.
1) Lycoberry
2) Becelac fortz
3) Metrogyl
4) Ribagen
I took second opinion and this another ENT said it is viral infection and gave following drugs
1) Oratil - 500
2) Flucold
3) IMOL PLUS
I am confused as both drugs seems to be ineffective. The throat pain is still high and I am not getting any root cause.
Note that I never consumed tobacco in any form in whole life and never drinks alcohol. Any suggestion?

Brief Answer:
Get throat culture and sensitivity.
Detailed Answer:
hi sir welcome to h.c.m.
I understand your query and concern.
As per your clinical info, you possibly seem to polymicrobial infection.
the definite management depends on throat bacterial plus viral culture and sensitivity.
Hence i recommend you to have this test early and stop all the currently prescribed antibiotics as they are ineffective.
The infection in my opinion goes in favor of a bacterial infection.
meanwhile i advice you to have a mouth gargle with listerine mouth wash twice daily.
After you give the test i advice you to start tab valacylovir 1gm twice a day for 5days after consulting your doctor.
Thank you.
