Brief Answer:
It may be Peripheral neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,

Thank you for asking your query on HCM.
Your symptoms are suggestive mostly peripheral neuropathy.
It is likely to be an alcoholic peripheral neuropathy.
I congratulate you on your resolution to quit alcohol.
Often neuropathy is related to deficiency of vitamin B1( Thiamine) and/or B12.
You can check your blood level of these and take medicines to make them normal.
Do you have any backache? Lumbar spondylosis with radiculopathy is another possibility though less likely.
You are welcome to ask, if you have more queries.

Best wishes,
Dr. Noble Zachariah, Kuwait

Thank you for your reply. No back pain. Will my feet feel better over time? Would you recommend getting OTC B1 and B12 vitamins? If so, what brands would you recommend?

Brief Answer:
Would feel better with time

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome back XXXX.

It would improve with time if you keep off alcohol and take the vitamins. Ideally you should do vitamin levels in the blood. But these are water soluble vitamins and excess will be excreted in the urine. Therefore there is no danger of toxicity if taken in recommended doses.

Neurobion from Glaxo is one of the combinations containing the neurotropic vitamins.

Wish you a quick recovery.
