Question: Hi i have severe jock itch on my groin region. Over a few weeks it turned form red to black. Is it an indication of healing? I have an earlier history of jock itch but it healed itself over a few weeks that was 2 or 3 years before. Now i suspect that i also have angioketoderma along with jock itch because the skin under my scrotum pains and up on inspection i found out very small pimples and little amount of blood coming from it but its pains. Can you please suggest some medications for both angiketoderma and jock itch. Iam a male and i am just 16 years old.

Brief Answer:
kindly upload images

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern.
Jock itch also known as Tinea is fungal infection of skin characterised by red colored itchy rash. It may be hyperpigmented at times. In some patients, while healing the rash turns blck from red. So black rash doesn't necessarily indicate healing.
I would advise you to upload images of both kinds of rash so that I can actually visualize the rash and help you to my best.
Take care

Brief Answer:
clotrimazole cream and tablet fluconazole

Detailed Answer:
I have received the attached images. Thanks for the same.
For jock itch, I prefer to advise topical antifungals like clotrimazole cream / miconazole cream. Also oral antifungals are advised like weekly dose of fluconazole with dose depending on the body weight.
In non responding cases, consideration is given to start other antifungals like terbinafine and itraconazole.
For symptomatic relief of itch, oral antihistaminics are started like levocetrizine.
Keep the area clean and dry.
You should visit your doctor so that he can give you prescription. You can share my opinion with him. I hope it helps .
Take care.

How many tablets of fluconzole must i take? Should i take fluconzole tablet daily? Should i take the tablet after eating the food or before taking food ? For how many weeks should i continue this medication? Iam 16 years old and weighs 60kg.

Brief Answer:
twice daily clotrimazole cream and weekly dose of fluconazole

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back. Its my pleasure to help you here. Clotrimazole cream should be applied over affected area twice daily . Oral fluconazole 150 mg is advised once a week and to be taken for 2 weeks. After that follow up is required to examine the rash and then further medications is advised.
Since oral fluconazole is a prescription drug, you may need to visit your doctor to get it from pharmacy.
I hope I am able to solve your query. If you have any further query, you may ask me.
Stay healthy.
