Suggest Treatment For Tinnitus And Dizziness

Posted on Mon, 11 Jul 2016
Question: About six weeks ago I went without sleep for about four days. I was also under a lot of emotional stress. I finally got so tired I got dizzy and felt like gravity was heavier than normal and my balance was not quite normal. My equilibrium got worse when entering a building and got better when I go outside. I also had tinnitus in the right ear in the morning when waking up. I notice my equilibrium is always worse in the morning but gets better in the afternoon and evening. All my blood work is normal. It all started when I got exhausted and stressed. The symptoms are better but I still have them. I am finally sleeping much better in the last week. What do you think this is and how long will it last?

Brief Answer:
seems to be BPPV (BENIGN POSITIONAL PAROXYMAL VERTIGO.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having dizzy spells.I would like to ask you few more details.

Are there any painful neck movements ?
Are you diabetic or on any medications ?

Kindly get back to me with the details.

Your symptoms (dizziness, ringing in the ears) are related to inner ear disorder (BPPV) Benign positional paroximal vertgo or due to age related neuropathy secondary to cervical sponylosis.

I suggest you to visit an ENT surgeon for otoscopy (to see deeper part of ear), hearing tests (PTA & IMPEDENCE), balance tests (to locate the lesion (inner ear or brain) for the cause of giddiness) and x- Ray cervical spine (spondylosis).

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
