Suggest Treatment For Tiny White Bumps On Upper Lip
Question: I have tiny white bumps on my upper lip and lower lip and inside the corners of my lips. These seem to have developed over the last one year. However there is no pain or anything. Could this be cancerous or some kind of infection. I am worried. Please help
Brief Answer:
Requesting you to upload some images
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through the mentioned details. However, I would strongly insist you to upload some images of the affected areas. There is a facility on the upper right of this page that will enable you to do so. Whatever be the condition, it is unlikely to be cancerous unless it is rapidly increasing in size (which is not the case). Based on the image I would be able to comment if it could be leukoplakia which is a pre-cancerous lesion.
You need not panic. I will resove your query if you could send the image. I will await your rsponse.
Regards

Thank you Dr XXXXXXX for the reply. Please find attached the photo graphs of the affected area
Brief Answer:
They are harmless and non-cancerous
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
I have checked the image. The white spots are sebaceous cysts. The sebageous glands are tiny glands that secrete a oily substance called sebum. If the mouth of the gland gets jammed due to certain reasons, the secretions get collected inside forming a small white bulge which you see on your skin. These are harmless and non-cancerous. These do not need to be removed. You need not worry about them other than the cosmetic factor.
