Suggest Treatment For Tonsillitis And Severe Ear Pain
This is the normal course
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
tonsilitis symptoms and signs usually appear progressively. For example, the patient may have a sore throat but no exudate may be visible. The exudate may appear after several hours have passed (perhaps even 48 hours or more). In other cases all the symptoms may appear at once and the signs may be more prominent.
Tonsil swelling is common but it rarely causes respiratory symptoms. Ear symptoms may accompany sore throat. Usually the ear symptoms are intermittent. If the symptoms become constant then an Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) specialist should take a look.
If you do develop respiratory symptoms then treatment with corticosteroids is warranted, although they are rarely needed.
