Suggest Treatment For Tonsillitis With Acute Otitis Media
Question: Hi,
I have a 1.5 yrs old son who is getting cold/cough wheezing very frequently and both the ears have been punctured 5 times in last 4 months.
I had used amoxicillin whenever his ear has been punctured. Now back in India I have the following medicine
Medler - cold
Omnacotril - cough
Anti biotic - equivalent of amoxicillin ( used for 10 days, now stopped).
Now he is getting cold, cough & wheezing & tonsils after 2 weeks of stopping antibiotics.
Please advise me what I should do , should I continue cold, cough medicine or is something wrong with immunity system ?
Please advise me what I can do to increase his immune levels and to avoid frequent cold.
Thanks
Brief Answer:
Continue cold, cough medicine
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your query, medical history and age of your child, it suggests that your son is suffering from the tonsillitis with Eustachian tube dysfunction with acute otitis media.
I personally advised to your son
1. Proper antibiotic after throat swab and culture sensitivity.
2. Systemic and local Nasal decongestant.
3. Steam inhalation three times a day.
4. Breast feeding and water always in sitting posture not in laying down position.
Most probably your child not suffering from immune disease but it is the susceptible age for this type of disease.
If you have any doubt, I will be available for your query.
