Question: My dad diagnosed with colon cancer november. Was a t3. But recent ct shows loss of fat plane . Does this mean kidney invaded and will require removal ? Therefore now ct states t4. Pls see attached report . See attached ct report please . States tumor gone to a t4 now due to loss of fat plane .Does this mean kidney invaded and will require removal ?

Brief Answer: Please refer below Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for your query. It is not clear what treatment he has received in this period. Has he received some chemotherapy or alternative treatment or no treatment at all?. It does appear from the CT scan that the tumor is adherent to the kidney. The surgical oncologist can better opine on whether the kidney will require removal or not (after seeing the images). If it is likely to require removal then one option will be to give chemotherapy for 3-4 cycles and then do the surgery. Hope I have answered your query. They have not given any chemo therapy or rafiotherspy beforehand. Jusy surgery taking place soon. Does this mean tumor invaded kidney?

He was diagmosed in nov 13. But due to a few health issues the operation got delayed twice. So is this bad now then it invaded kidney?

The surgery wad yest. Surgeon said tumor was very close and only little bit of bottom kidney part removed. Does this mean kidney invaded. Also from the attached ct report what does it mean re the lymph nodes the radiologist has noted?
