Brief Answer:
Medications, regular exercise, diet control, follow up

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

There are 3 important things you should do to manage diabetes.

1. Lifestyle modifications

Regular aerobic exercise for 20-30 minutes a day.
Diet - frequent low calorie diet rich in fibre, protein and less in refined sugars
and saturated fat.

2. Medications

Medications depends on diabetic control. Good diabetic control is fasting blood
glucose less than 130 mg/dl, after food less than 180 mg/dl and HbA1C
(3 months' average blood sugar) less than 7%.

3. Follow up (screening for complications)

Annual screening of complications for diabetic eye disease, neuropathy,
urine albumin excretion, cholesterol, BP monitoring should be done.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
