Suggest Treatment For Ulcerative Colitis

Question: is there anything I can take for ulcerative colitus? I am taking anti diarrhea tablets (2a.m. 2.pm) and have had a colonoscopy recently. None of the perscription meds have worked.

Well, the treatment depends upon the stage of the disease:

For acute exacerbation or flare up: Hydrocortisone enema ( if colitis is confined up to the rectosigmoid junction) of Inj Hydrocortisone otherwise.

For maintenance therapy: Aminosalicylate drugs like Mesalamine are effective

Biological agents like Infliximab is effective in the resistant cases.

You are advised to consult a gastro enterologist for the treatment plan.
