Question: Hi, i have a 28 month old son. From last few months i notice a peculiar problem with him. Whenever he is bored/upset, he lies down on the floor and starts rubbing his genitals on the floor. this is most disturbing to us especially when guests are around. i have tried really hard to stop him - scolded him, put water ,ice etc on him. He gives up for few days and then starts again. what could this behaviour mean? pls help on this. thanks, XXXX

Brief Answer: This is normal. Detailed Answer: Greetings. This Behaviour is sometimes normal in children. But you should not over react to this. let it be. and you will find that it will just go off on its own. just make sure that he doesn't hurt himself. if you keep on scolding him for it. it will create a reinforcement. so have a balanced approach. it's just a phase and will pass off. hope this helps. thanks and regards.

Brief Answer: Don't worry. Detailed Answer: greetings. maybe it's taking him long because of the scolding and deliberate efforts to end it. this has created in his mind an identity for this thing. just forget it for sometime. and it should go. and there's no relation on the level of his sexual intensities and such behaviours. don't worry. things will be fine. thanks and regards.
