Suggest Treatment For Upper Abdominal Bloating Immediately After Eating When I Am Tested Positive For SIBO
Question: I have been suffering from bloating. Most of the bloating is upper abdominal, and it occurs almost immediately after eating. I also tested positive for SIBO about a year and half ago. I was wondering could the upper ab bloating be the stomach? I should add when I ever I have a bowel movement, I do have to strain which, after years straining, could it have affected the stomach? I also have a hiatal hernia. I am treating the SIBO and be very careful about what I eat. But if it is indeed my stomach that is protruding? Is there a fix for that aside from surgery?
Brief Answer:
It could be either SIBO or a hernia
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The upper abdominal bloating that you describe can be related to SIBO, especially if it has not been treated previously with antibiotics.
Straining in association with bowel voiding will not affect emptying of your stomach, and is therefore not causally related to your bloating.
Hiatal hernias can be associated with symptoms such as bloating, but heartburn and belching are more common symptoms. When did you last have a gastroscopy and what did it find beside a hiatal hernia?
Regards

I should. I have been keeping a mental diary. I have been taking HCL and ACV the last few days, and it seems to be improving. Time will tell.
Brief Answer:
Great, keep it up!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
That sounds great, you should probably do a diary for a month or so, and then look for patterns.
Best of luck.
