Question: My husband is having a sore throat and fever (between 102-103 F) since yesterday morning. Taken Dolo 650, but fever keeps returning. He has excessive headache and body pains too.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Nice to meet you,
Upper respiratory tract infection(URTI) usually associated with sore throat and fever.
I usually advise my patients to take,
Anti pyretic like Tab.tylenol 600mg Tid, thrice daily,
Along with Tab. Zithromax 500mg Od, (once daily) for three days,
And Tab. Levo cetirizine 10mg BD (twice daily) to relieve sore throat.

Zithromax and levo cetrizine are prescription drugs. Tylenol or Acetaminophen or Paracetamol is available over the counter.

I also advise my patients to gargle with Betadine mouthwash twice daily until the symptoms of sore throat subsides.
Continue on Tepid sponging, to reduce fever symptoms.
