default
Posted on Thu, 7 Jul 2016
Question: I had a ureteroscopy yesterday to remove a 13mm stone and had a urethane stent placed. It was beyond uncomfortable and the string was pulling. Dr feels the end may have move to urethra going through prostate. Any he took it out today. I have voided several times with a fair amount of red blood. Since it was and is very irritated is this a reasonable expectation?

Brief Answer:
The bleeding is due to trauma to urethra .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone Ureteroscopy for removal of 13 mm stone in ureter which later on got stuck up in prostatic part of urethra and was subsequently removed endoscopically .

Now you have bleeding pr urethra and severe pain in urethra.

The pain and bleeding is due to trauma (Injury) caused to delicate urethra while passing or pulling it down .

Take antibiotic like Cefotaxime along with Nitrofuarantoin and Diclofenac twice daily ..
Drink more water ..

This should get resolved within a week .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.
