Suggest Treatment For Urinary Incontinence In A Child

Question: My 8 year old granddaughter ha urinary incontinence,sometimes wetting herself twice a day at school. She has seen a doctor who believes it is mostyle due to constipation, but giving her laxatives has not helped. Are there other possible causes or treatments?

Hello. I just read through your question.
I agree with your pediatrician, that the most common reason in this age group is constipation.
I would also have her urine tested to make sure it is not new onset diabetes. It is also sometimes worth consulting with a pediatric urologist. They can usually help rule out and muscular issues with the bladder.
