Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern.
As per details, it is clear that you are suffering from a condition called Chronic Urticaria. Urticaria can be acute, chronic and acute on chronic. When duration of the disease is more than 6weeks, it is known as Chronic Urticaria. It is characterised by red colored itchy transient eruptions over body. It is usually caused by allergy to any food, seasonal change, drugs, pollen grains etc. I will advise you to get your blood sugar levels, thyroid profile, Absolute Eosinophil count, IgE levels done.
In such cases, I prefer to advise a combination of levocetrizine and montelukast to my patients. In recalcitrant cases, Consideration is given to start oral steroids. You should visit your doctor and share my opinion with him. I am sure that he would agree with this.

course of 3-4 months usually helps
Detailed Answer:
In most of the cases, it is a persistent problem with recurrent attacks specially when It becomes chronic. I advice my such patients to complete a course of 3-4 months atleast of antihistaminics to control the allergy. I prefer to advise a combination of levocetrizine and montelukast in night with fexofenadine in morning. The medications are continued for 3-4 weeks followed by gradual tapering once the new lesions stop appearing. By this therapy, my most of the patients do respond. Still I would say that there are few percentage of patients who need to take antihistaminics like levocetrizine or fexofenadine once or twice a week to get symptomatic relief .
You may share my opinion with your doctor. He would advise you accordingly.
I hope it helps.
Stay healthy.
