Question: I've had 4 urinary tract infections since Feb 2 (first in the hospital). Now I feel I have a vaginal infection. I'm 67 and have had no intercourse for years. Is this possible?

Brief Answer:
Yes it is possible for you to get UTI even without intercourse.

Detailed Answer:
Good day and thank you for being with healthcare magic!

Yes it is possible to have infection even in the absence of intercourse. This may be due to your age and dryness in the vagina. Urine cultures are needed to properly identify and treat your Infection.

A Paps smear might also be needed to assess the vaginal infection especially in the presence of vaginal discharge.

The dryness of the Urethra will also make you prone to have infection.

There are several creams containing estrogen that can help decrease the dryness and make it less prone for UTI. Cranberry juice is helpful also to decrease UTI occurrence.

I hope I have answered your question satisfactorily and please consider a 5 Star rating for my answer
