Suggest Treatment For Ventricular Dysphonia

Question : What will cure Ventricular Dysphonia. Ive during my younger years seemed to over-compress my true vocal cords, and I want my true cords fully restored without the need for alternating to false cords (which is what seemingly has happened as an automatic response) and just be able to have full control of my pitch, range, and tone. Ive tried vocal therapy countlessly, drinking plenty of water, teas with honey, etc. Will I be able to restore my vocals ever? Ive seen specialists and they all point to vocal therapy. I just dont know if my voice is improving or not. I tend to think it is. But some days it sounds horrible and I feel lifeless. Advice?

Hi,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having ventricular dysphonia.
I am not sure if you have an established diagnosis of ventricula dysphonia. But if the diagnosis is established, then remedies like honey with tea will not help. We need to put in every effort to understand the root . A ct scan of brain, stoboscopy and direct laryngoscopy should be performed. I suggest you to go ahead with these investigations if not done earlier. It is best treated with botulinam therapy or with CO2 laser after establishing the right cause (in prolonged ventricular dysphonia)
In the mean time, I agree, you should try voice therapy with speech therapist (they are trained personnel, will give you you proper results) rather than trying voice therapy by yourself or under untrained personnel.

Ive been to/tried 3 different speech therapists/therapy approaches. Ive also tried my own approaches, and like I said, countless tries to help restore my sound and comfort levels. I will continue to soothe my vocals as much as I can in any way that I can because I really just want the full power of my voice back (Now) .
Vd was the diagnosis. This is a very personal matter to me that has been bothering me for far too long. When I try to talk, sometimes my voice has a false spasm and gets deep. And I know it is because my true folds are giving me trouble, have been, for ever.
As far as the botulinum therapy / CO2 laser can you tell me more about those treatments in general and if these options are recommended or not in my case? How possible would this treatment become available to me?

It seems to be spasmodic in nature. So you're directing me to a referral center, saying I need to find the right laryngologist that knows my case. Should I just go to my doctor and ask to be referred to an ENT specialist and have them direct me. Im confused as to what to do next.
