default
Posted on Mon, 2 Mar 2015
Question: Hi,
My son is 8 weeks old, weighs 5.5 kg and for the last 2 days he is having nose blockage along with little cold and cough. The doctor suggested alerid 2 ml twice a day. But when I can check in the internet for dosage information, it is suggested for 6 months and above infants.

Please let me know whether we can use alerid 2 ml of twice a day to him or not.
Thanks for your help.

Brief Answer:
No dont give.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for posting in healthcaremagic.

As per description your baby is having viral coryza which can be treated with antihistaminics.

Give Maxtra drop 0.5 ml three times daily for 7 days. Use Nasoclear nasal drop 1 drop both side every times before feeds ( it does not have any side effects).

Thank you.
