Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
I would like to know whether the patches are stable or you are still getting new patches of vitiligo ?
It is important to know about stability of disease as treatment varies in both the cases.
Also let me know what all area of body are involved ?
Waiting for your response.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Steroid therapy

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
The best treatment for unstable vitiligo is oral steroids.
I treat such cases with pulse therapy wherein I prescribe oral steroid for two days in a week.
This weekly therapy gives good results within a month.
You can try this in consultation with your doctor.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Steroids are safe

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Mesoral is known to cause side effects like gastric upset and photo sensitivity.
Steroid pulse therapy is very effective and safe.
I have used it for many patients without any side effects.
Creams can decrease the size of patches and induce re pigmentation but cannot stop new patches.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Prednisolone

Detailed Answer:
Hello
It is called as tablet prednisolone.
Dose is 1 mg per kg body weight.
If your weight is 50 kg, you should take 50 mg tablet prednisolone on Saturday and 50 mg on Sunday.
Again repeat the same dose next week.
Do this for a month.
You don't need to avoid eating anything.
Take black grapes and almonds daily.
This helps a bit.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
