Its ok. Give plenty of fluids along with usual diet, half an hour after giving emset or domperidone. Wait for atleast half an hour of giving antiemetic. Avoid spicy food. For fever, paracetamol, after food.

he is not willing to take any thing except breast milk now...so that should be okay ryt ? when do we have get to alerted ...kindly advise
Brief Answer:
Breast milk alone not sufficient.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again.
Breast milk alone wont be sufficient for 1.5 yr old baby. It requires more nutrition. Due to current stress, the baby would be prone to that. Try to give sugar with water and other substitutes too.
Watch for reduced activity, less crying and low urine output. If any of these symptoms, baby will require possible IV fluids. As there is no diarrhea, I do not expect this to happen. Give emset, and have the baby in upright position. After half an hour, nothing will usually come out, when given.
Oral rehydration salts with water should be adequate along with usual diet.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.

Brief Answer:
Avoid coffee, tea or spicy/sour food.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for replying.
Continue with emset and wait for half an hour.
Avoid coffee or anything spicy, it could cause gastritis and vomiting.
Continue on juice, milk and other fluids.
It will stop. Emset can be given twice daily. If he is urinating, not to worry. Good hydration is present. Not to worry about motion, sometimes, it can take upto three days.
Hope it helps.

Dear sir...now he hasn't vomited after giving him emset...but he's having high fever now close to 102...we are giving him paracetamol syrup ...he's not sleeping properly.. crying in between and getting up suddenly. is it okay ...or should we take him to a doctor again
Brief Answer:
Continue paracetamol as necessary
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Give paracetamol syrup every six hours or when temperature crosses 100, XXXXXXX four times a day.
If the baby has no other symptoms, its possibly viral fever. Do not allow temperature to be high, use cold sponges to reduce if necessary.
Continue with paracetamol and emset as necessary. Avoid giving paracetamol on empty stomach. Baby will be irritable due to fever, and crying, not to worry. Feeding and hydration should be good.
If the fever does not come down after paracetamol, then you need to go to doctor as antibiotics like azithromycin may be necessary. You will require prescription from your doctor.
Hope it helps.

thanks a lot sir...he's not eating anything... fever is coming down after giving paracetamol syrup...but after 2-3 he's its again going up..also no motion since 3 days ...
Brief Answer:
Food intake necessary for stools formation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again.
The food intake, overall is less. Along with it, fever causing dehydration along with vomiting, - the amount for motion would be less. Give more water or juice, etc.
Fever would be controlled by paracetamol for usually 6-8 hours. After that fever, generally goes up. Not to worry. Give paracetamol, but avoid temperature going up as told earlier.
Motions will come, not to worry. If there was any obstruction, the abdomen/tummy would have been fat and vomiting would not have been under control. Force feeding is necessary, as the baby is irritable due to medications, fever and disturbed sleep. Continue medications and force feed baby.
Taking the baby out, walking, etc could improve overall good feeling. Its viral fever, will take usually 5 days to come under control.
Hope it helps.
