Suggest Treatment For Vomiting And Severe Pain In Throat
As you will note I have paid I am worried because he's thrown up again, his throat feels full but when he swallows it feels like he has to puke.
the end of his clack/epiglottis/ulva has disappeared down the back of his throat, or it looks like a small coiled snack on the back of his tongue.
Absolutely NOTHING TO WORRY
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to healthcaremagic,
Only the base of the epiglottis is anchored, rest of it is leaf like and it usually folds inwards. What you have seen is a regular, normal epiglottis, do not worry. His epiglottis is not the reason for his vomiting. Ordinary throat infections do not affect the epiglottis and do not change the shape and size of it. Similarly constant coughing will not stretch it.
Infection of the epiglottis results in severe pain in the throat , the epiglottis gets swollen and blocks the airway. Patient will be unable to swallow even his saliva.
If your son has any of the symptoms that I just mentioned then see a doctor.
Giving him ice cream is not a good idea. It will worsen his cough.
