Question: I am 80 just bought a car - stress and waiting steel cut oatmeal for breakfast around 7;00.. Drank half a cut of coffee milk. Went to the car dealer. Over two or three hours I drank a little water, a cup of coffee - 6 -8 oz with two vanilla coffee mate singles. then ate a package of orange nabs with peanut butter. around noon began to develop acid - which eventualy developed into
ACID reflux When I got home about 2;30 I threw up the entire contents of my stomach - dark broun liquid with no solid matter whatsoever. Just checking to see if I should be concerned. after vomiting I heated a half cup of milk and drank it. so far so good but not ready or able to eat.

Brief Answer:
Monitor for now

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcaremagic,

Vomiting is one of the symptoms of acid reflux so it is possible that the episode was a reflection of the reflux that you were experiencing.

Though dark vomit can sometimes represent blood, it may be the coffee used especially if there were no other episodes.

At this stage you can consider monitoring and using reflux medication if you have access. Meds like nexium, prilosec, prevacid, protonix, would be best because suppress acid production effectively.
Because they do not work immediately, can initially consider using peptobismol or tums along with the initial dose.

There is no rush to eat, drinking is more important so you can consider using small sips of fluids.
When your appetite returns then you can restart eating solids.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
