Suggest Treatment For Wart In Genital Area
Question: Hi Doctor, last year I had unprotected sex and since then I have had a big wart in my genital area which I am guessing is genital herpes. Sometimes it is big and full of liquids and sometimes it gets smaller but the pain always remained there. Since I am 16 I'm afraid to go to a GU clinic or gynecologist because I am afraid it won't be confidential. I don't want my parents to know about this. This was a big stupid mistake and I regret it with all my heart. Now I am so afraid especially of cervical cancer and infertility. Is there something I can do Doctor? I can send you a picture of it. I really feel confused. It's been more than a year and it still is there. As I said sometimes big and sometime small. Is there any medications or creams? What should I do?
Brief Answer:
You should go and consult a Gynecologist or GU clinic.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting us about your health care.
I can understand your concern here.
You should consult a Gynaecologist or GU clinic for your herpes testing and other STD testing and examination.
It is fully confidential, so do not get worried about it.
Can you please upload the picture? so I will be able to give you a better opinion, because
it can be due to other reasons also.
Are you having any vaginal discharge( foul smelling), any urinary symptoms, fever etc.
Please revert back to me with my answers.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Good luck.
Regards

Sorry for the pubic hair but due to the pain I am afraid to remove it. Yes I do have foul smelling ... but the smell is of urine itself. No fever or any other. Thank you for all your help. Please tell me if there is any treatment I can do on my own. Thank you
Brief Answer:
Most probably due to folliculitis ( hair follicle infection).
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
I have gone through your picture and in my opinion it is most probably due to folliculitis.
You can apply a cream contains 2%hydrocortisone, antifungal and antibacterial ointment or neosporin powder, keep the area dry and clean, wear cotton undergarments, avoid tight fitting clothes, use loose fitting cotton clothes, avoid perfume soap.
If possible better to rule out STD infection.
If discharge is foul smelling consult a Gynecologist and get yourself examined and vaginal swab culture should be done.
Do protected sex in future.
Hope it is useful.
Good luck.

Thank you so much for your help. It gets big as well and this came out approx. 2 weeks after I had unprotection sex last year. It was a big stupid mistake but I still am so confused. So it might not be an STD?
Brief Answer:
Most likely not a STD.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
You are most welcome.
It is very unlikely a STD infection but if it will not respond to local treatment than consult a doctor and STD testing should be done to rule out other causes.
