Suggest Treatment For Weakness On Jaws
The left side of my jaw is normal. Well, it's so ambiguous, it's hard to describe. Until a month ago, I had been taking Benicar and isoprobide for about nine years and using nitrolingual spray as needed. I stopped taking them thinking they might be the problem. I've had no problems from stopping them and seem to be feeling better overall. But the jaw discomfort has not gotten any better. Got any suggestions?
TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT DISORDER, to be investigated further
Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms the problem seems to be associated with the Jaw Joint known as Temporomandibular joint and the condition is known as TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT DISORDER..
In case if it started suddenly then it can be due to subluxation or dislocation of the articular disc that is a soft cushion present in between the two bony ends of the joint..
While in case if it happened gradually then it can be due to Arthritic / Osteo-arthritic changes in the joint..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can take appropriate x-rays and other tests if required and can refer you to an appropriate dental specialist for treatment with a Final diagnosis, so that appropriate treatment can be done..
As of now you can do warm compresses over the affected side..
Take a soft diet and avoid stress as stress can further deteriorate the condition..
Other thing that I would like to tell you as an out of the way information that the medications [Benicar and Isoprobide] that you were taking should not have been stopped without the consultation of your treating physician as they can cause cardio-vascular problems..
So better consult your physician once and do as he advises..
Any further queries are welcome..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
