Suggest Treatment For White Film On Lip
Question: My 14 month old son has almost like a white film only on his lower lip that I noticed this morning and when I picked him up from daycare this afternoon he still had it. Could it be thrush? If so, how can I be certain? How is it caused and how can I get rid of it? He's been very fussy and whiny all day.
Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
Yes, this may be thrush. One way to tell is to take a tissue or washcloth and try to wipe it off. If it comes off, it isn't thrush. If it doesn't come off, it may be thrush.
Thrush is treated with a prescription strength anti-fungal liquid medication. The treatment is simple and it works.
If you suspect thrush, I recommend consulting with your doctor. Then the correct diagnosis can be made and the appropriate treatment therapy implemented.

Thank you. What can cause thrush?
Brief Answer:
Thrush
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the follow up question.
Thrush is caused by a fungus. This fungus can infect babies in their mouths and in the diaper area. In fact, it often infects both locations at the same time. Even the cleanest babies can develop this infection. But, as we said earlier, it is easily treated.
