Suggest Treatment For Withdrawal Symptoms Of Alcohol

Question: Hi
My heart starts beating rapidly for a while and becomes normal in an hour or so. This has happened for few times now in past 6 months. The first time it happened was when I was smoking weed. I stopped smoking weed since then. I do not smoke cigarettes but I did smoke occasionally in past 2 months. Since the time I stopped smoking weed the problem has occurred even when I was normal. When this happens I start feeling very anxious my heart beat rate becomes high my palms become sweaty I feel a little difficulty in breathing and talking. During this time my body shivers a bit I feel cold. Recently I have also been experiencing a warm feeling on my left side of the chest. Today my slippers were tighter than usual I felt little bit of swelling in my feet. Apart from this I also get sudden sharp pain like a needle piercing through on the left side of my chest. This used to happen rarely but now it occurs more if not more often. Also when I lay down my I feel a little pressure on left side of my chest.
One of the doctors I met said I shouldn't be worried as it is an anxiety disorder but I'm not sure if that is correct. I'm 25 years old.
What could this be and how can it be fixed?

Brief Answer:
Hi welcome to HCM, your problems are probably due to withdrawal of smoking.
Detailed Answer:
Hi welcome to HCM, your problems are probably due to withdrawal of smoking. Stick it out! I am sure over a period of time you will improve. Meanwhile the only test I will suggest is a 2D Echocardiography to rule out a condition called MVP (mitral valve prolapse) that can produce symptoms like this. Let us not consider other remote possibilities for the present. Regards
