Suggest Treatment For Wood Splinter In Left Foot
Question: My daughter, 4.5 years old, seem to have got some wood splinter or something in her left foot. It has been 2 days. We had gone to local clinic where the doctor tried to remove it using needle. Not sure, if was removed. The pus is still there. Attaching the photo of now. We have been applying home medication like Hot Oil + Turmeric today.
Please suggest.
It pains her at the point of pus & hence she cannot walk with flat foot.

Brief Answer:
It has become infected
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.
I doubt if the splinter has been removed. Splinters can more easily be removed before the infection occurs. At home these can be removed with a eyebrow plucker. In clinics these are usually removed with needle.
Now that it has become infected, it is better taken care of by a surgeon. We also have to take precautions that the infection does not spread. The pus will need to be cleaned with local antiseptics like hydrogen peroxide and betadine under supervision of surgeon. He may even prescribe oral antibiotics
So she needs to be taken to a surgeon.
Hope it helps.
