Brief Answer:
Restart Valparin syrup.Need at least 1-2 years of therapy
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,
I understand your query and concern.
Its extremely important that you give valparin again.
Antiepileptics should never be stopped suddenly.
Otherwise they lead to rebound seizures with greater intensity.
Its extremely important that you taper them slowly under your doctor's supervision.
The drug/syrup has to be continued for at least 2 years before initiating tapering.
But the final duration of drug therapy will be largely decided by your doctor basing on the EEG and physical characteristics of your child.
Thank you.

Will her developmental changes be affected if she used to take valparin.I am concerned about her developmental milestones.
Brief Answer:
Valparin has no detrimental effects on developmental milestones
Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam.
I understand your concern.
Developmental milestones are hardly affected by Valparin.
The central nervous system related side effects are rare in children.
Children taking Valproic acid are more prone to develop gastrointestinal and liver disturbances in rare cases.
Only in such cases a drug needs withdrawal.
Thank you.
