Suggest Treatment To Completely Cure Sinusitis

Question: I have had bad sinusitis for 2 months that has landed me in urgent care 2x and the ER and finally to an ENT. I have been on afrin flonase, amoxicillan for 7 days, and finally now i have been on prednisone w only mild improvement - 40 mg for 3 days and 20 for 4 days - I am on day number 4. I am very concerned that there is still some type of infection as i feel draining behind my left eye area, nose, and ear is completely full but i feel burning and draining but it never fully clears. Please advise what should i do? I am miserable. The ent took me off of augmentin antibiotics and put me on prednisone but should i go back on them?? I never had a fever. Please help thank u
Brief Answer:
not to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sinusitis typically takes a bout ten days to clear. it can take upto a few weeks also.
Please continue the treatment that has been prescribed for you . Though You may need to take antibiotics for a longer time.
You can also use decongestant nose drops like otrivin. Instill 3 drops in each nostril 3 times a day and follow it up with steam inhalation for 6 days. It helps to keep your sinuses well ventilated which in turn helps to control the infection.
Remember to drink lots of water and avoid air conditioning and cold foods.
Feel free to follow up,
Regards,
