Suggest Treatment To Cure Stinging And Burning Sensation On Face

Question: My question is for a dermatologist. I suffer from acne and for about three weeks I was using a toner with 2% salycylic acid in it twice a day and a mandelic acid 10% serum once a night everynight with it.
Everything seemed fine until one night I got a little over zealous with my clarasonic brush and went to to town on my face. I really scrubbed my face.
Now it has been over a month since the clarasonic and my face is still sensitive. I have just been using sensitive face wash from Aveeno and Vanicream. I stopped using Aveeno because my face stung way too much. My face still stings and burns all day after applying Vanicream, however, there is no redness or texture changes.
Do you think I over exfoliated? My skin didnt turn red or anything. It just started stinging and still getting the burning sensation four weeks later. Doesnt the skin have to be red and scabby and raw for it to be over exfoliated?
How long should it take for my skin and nerves to feel normal again? A previous doctor told me a month, but it has been a month exactly.
People are telling me I have to let it heal, however, I don't know what is there to heal. There are no scabs or hyperpigmentation, or redness. Just burning of skin.
I can't even touch my pillow with my face at night.
Is the burning/irritated skin below going to heal? Or is this burning permanent and for rest of my life. Is it the nerves/skin irritated below? A previous doctor recommended gabapentin/amitryptyline until burning subsides. Did I really disrupt the skin/nerves below with a clarasonic brush?
Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Also, Ibuphrophen, Bendadryl, Claritan, and Allegra are not helping.
I appreciate your help.
Brief Answer:
damaged superficial nerves
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Probably the main problem is over scrubbing.
There are fine nerves in superficial skin which get damaged and lead to sensitivity of face.
It may take upto 6 months for these nerves to regenerate.
Don't worry it is not a permanent damage. You will recover soon.
For now just apply lignicaine jelly and alovera.
Thus will help in faster relief.
Thank you
