Suggest Treatment To Get Rid Of A Painful Small Lump On The Upper Thigh
Question: Hi Doctor,
My wife has observed a small lump on her upper thigh few days back. It pains if she touches it or on movement. It's been over 2 weeks but, it is not going by itself. What shall we do?

If possible please attach some images of the swelling so that i can help you better. It looks like an abscess. You can apply ointment betadine twice daily for 5 days. In case it persists it is better to meet a physician or dermatologist for a detailed examination and treatment.

We tried to capture it in photograph but, it seems to be underneath the skin and nothing was getting captured in the image as such.
Shall we go ahead with the suggested solution of betadine ointment?

As it is underneath the skin it maybe a Lipoma. Usually lipomas are harmless. Yes you can try betadine ointment. If the pain persists or the swelling is growing bigger you will have to meet a physician.

Hi Doctor, my wife tried to squeeze tge lump and some pus came out. She did that further till the time pus was coming out. Please suggest was this ok? Now, pain seems to be a bit less. We had applied betadine lotion as it was present at home. Shall we continue with it? thanks. Regards, Ankur
