I need further details

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern.

If you want to loose weight, best way out is diet modification and exercise.
There are medications which help in promoting weight loss, but are used only in special circumstances.

Give me following details:

1.What do you do?
2.Are you overweight since beginning or recently gained?
3.Any menstrual irregularities?
4.Any history of excessive intolerance to cold?
5.How is your diet?
6.Any food impulses?
7.Any family history of diabetes and hypertension?

This is my best advice for you based on available details. If you have any further query please ask me and revert with the asked details for a better help.
Stay Healthy.

Brief Answer:
Detail Follows.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
I knew you won't be happy with my answer, but i am sorry, we can not change the facts.
I would advise you following:
1. Thyroid Function test
2. Fasting Blood Sugar
3. Ultrasound Pelvic organs to see for any evidence of Polycystic Ovarian Disease.

Now if we talk about medications, most commonly used and FDA approved medication used for treatment of Obesity is Orlistat. However, this drug is recommended for morbid obesity. However, people use it in combination with Cardio exercises and Diet modification for weight loss.

Another medication frequently used for weight loss is high dose Fluoxetine, it helps in reducing weight by causing early satiety.

Another medicine is BELVIQ (Lircaserin) is an FDA-approved prescription weight-loss medication that, when used with diet and exercise, can help in reducing weight.

But again these medications should be taken only in cases of morbid obesity.

So, i have told you what are the options. You may discuss with your family doctor before choosing any option.
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
