Brief Answer:
sugar levels are high need to change the medications

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend,

Yes, the diabetes is uncontrolled and HbA1c must be brought below 7% at least. In my opinionl if we change the medications she won't have any complications of diabetes in future. She can continue her lifestyle changes which is the key in the management of diabetes. To reduce the stress she can practice yoga and meditation. Pranayama is best for relaxation.

As far as medication, I would start insulin injection pens. The appropriate dose necessary and subsequent dose adjustment can be done by her treating doctor. Monitor the sugar levels both fasting and post meal for a week and take the report to her physician to fix the proper dose.

Diet is too important - Green leafy vegetables, fruits, millets, garlic, turmeric, bitterguard, fibers. If necessary meet a dietician and get the diet chart and follow it properly.

Hope this helps. I will be glad to answer any more questions.

1. Does she have to continue with insulin injection pens for lifelong? If yes, then, is it the right way to treat this disease. If no, then for how long will insulin injection require?
2. If the diabetes gets controlled, please go through her current medication and suggest if those medicines are proper or need to be changed

Brief Answer:
yes needs to be changed. and should be on treatment lifelong

Detailed Answer:
Dear friend, basically diabetes is not a disease as such it is a metabolic risk factor for various complications, like heart disease, neuropathy, retinopathy and nephropathy. The problem is insulin is not secreated or the tissues won't responded to indulin. The tablet s will force insulin secretion From pancreas or sensitize tissues to insulin. Most of the time we need to keep the sugar levels around 140 and HBA1C below 7 to prevent the complications. Now that sugar levels are too high you need to change the medication s with proper lifestyle modifications. Lifestyle modifications are the key , it keeps the tissues responding to insulin. Better you meet your doctor and change the medicines switch over to insulin injection the dose will be adjusted as per the record. She should be under continuous monitoring till sugar levels are controlled. Please feel to ask more
