Brief Answer:
you are in latent labour
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thanks for the query to hcm,
As you are already post dated as of now and after the sweeping of membranes 36 hrs prior , now you have started with contractions which are more frquent and getting stronger.
this typically indicates that you have entered the latent phase of labour already and shall enter active labour in due course of time. Stripping causes release of prostaglandins which initiates uterine contractions and when near term, further labour.
There would XXXXXXX need of induction as the labour has already started in your case. Please visit your ER soon for a possible delivery .
Regards
you are in latent labour

Will inducing increases the chances of c section as I do not want to get onto c section at any cost. Are there chances of c section even after so much of pain
Brief Answer:
Answered.....there are always indications for c-section.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The decision for c-section is not dependent of induction or even labour pain, but it completely depends of how the labour progresses . C-section is considered only in cases of obstructed labour, delayed progression, in cases of uncorrectable asynclitism, small pelvis, in cases of large baby, in cases of failed induction and most importantly if the baby is industries anytime during labour or if there has been a cord prolapse after rupture of membranes.
There are certain contraindications to normal delivery like cephalopelvic disproportion, transverse lie of the baby or any genital herpes if at all.
So as the labour process has started, indicating that head has engaged in the pelvis, hence if the labour progreses well under constant monitoring and there are no indications for c-section during the process, then there would not be a need for the same and you shall have a normal vaginal delivery.
Please go the ER soon as the pains have started and hence an initial assessment of the present state is important for the obstetrician to predict the outcome.
